Not Improv

Comic Natasha Leggero tweeted one of my favorite quotes about comedy: “Standup comics did not get enough love from at least one parent. Funny people who were thoroughly loved by their parents become improvisers.”

It’s true. Because improv is group work you can’t “need” all the time – you have to give and you have to trust and you have to share. Stand-up is deliciously solo – you take all the risks and then (if there are any) you reap all the rewards.

I tried my hand and this is a slice of my first stand-up set. I had a blast. And I plan to continue. Enjoy!
